Unidel provides in-house survey expertise and equipment. We have extensive experience surveying sensitive constraint areas on pipeline alignments and developing mapping requirements for projects.
Our in-house experts use a combination of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), desktop andphysical survey techniques to identify, assess and select optimum sites and corridors. The team draws on their knowledge of construction and operational requirements of various forms of infrastructure, as well as their understanding of land use suitability.

Due to continued expansion and growth, Unidel has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Spatial Data Specialist/Cartographer to join its Brisbane team.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the GIS Team working on specific GIS projects.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking data analysis and data conversion;
- Coordinating the acquisition of new spatial data and supervising the integration of these data into Unidel's GIS;
- Performing spatial analysis and creating information products from the spatial data and related software / subsystems;
- Coordinating spatial data activities with programmers and technicians;
- Providing support for spatial data conversion, systems integration, application development and implementation;
- Providing support for cartographic design and high quality map production;
- Diagnosing and "troubleshooting" problems experienced with the use of spatial data and related software;
- Consulting users to identify new data and/or software requirements;
- Supporting users;
- Preparing project plans, liaising with external clients and internal project teams in order to meet deadlines & requirements.
We are looking for a high-performing candidate with a relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated knowledge of GIS (5 years +) and strong experience with ESRI.
In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to relate confidently to people at all levels of industry, listen and identify key issues and communicate complex information clearly.
You will also have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously or in a team environment and provide support for other team members as required, as well as excellent time management skills.
