About the Opportunity

ASBD Design and Construct has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and creative Architectural Draftsperson to join their friendly team at their North Adelaide office.

This crucial role will entail varied and diverse duties, primarily architectural but expanding into estimating, project management, construction management and administration.  Training in the additional areas will be provided for the right candidate. The more talent you have the more opportunity will then be afforded to you!

More specifically, your responsibilities will include approximately:

  • 60% design and documentation,

  • 30% construction and project management, direct site supervision, planning, ordering materials, and day to day administration of a project.

This makes for quite a varied day over and above a standard drafting role!

To be successful in this role, you should possess design / drafting qualifications. A degree in Architecture would be advantageous, but is not essential.  For example, Tafe qualifications in Building Technologies with a focus on Architectural design would be suitable.

You must have substantial experience in documentation of projects, and knowledge of Autocad to expected industry standards.

The successful candidate will be motivated and eager to expand, learn and work hard. They will possess humility and flexibility, which will also be returned to them.

They will have the ability to work both autonomously and within a team.

The right candidate will have fantastic opportunities for career progression with guidance and company specific training provided. Your employer will also contribute to your professional development by funding relevant Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) training.

The office is an excellent environment, with a modern restoration within a heritage listed building.

An attractive remuneration package based on experience and skills is available. The shared company car is used for site visits. There is also parking available, which is rare in the city environment, meaning no more parking fees!

The company recognises the importance of a healthy work/life balance for all employees.
