Sydney IVF's principal location in the centre of Sydney combines day surgery, laboratories, counselling services, and administration in one handy location. It is the most modern and complete fertility and genetics facility in Australia, with the resources to attend to every aspect of patients' treatments in one place.
The organisation's day surgery is equipped to perform all assisted conception procedures, including egg pick-up, embryo transfer, testicular biopsies and anaesthesia for every type of program. Sydney IVF performs diagnostic procedures, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
In addition, the organisation's laboratories use the latest technology for IVF, sperm function testing, genetic diagnosis and specialised IVF procedures such as ICSI, assisted hatching and embryo biopsy. Sperm and embryo cryostorage are also available.
About the Opportunity
Sydney IVF is excited to be setting up an in-house sonography service, which has led to several fantastic opportunities for dedicated Sonographers to join its team on a part-time basis.
Reporting to the Patient Care and Support Manager, the main aim of this role is to assist in the management of the patient journey and experience by providing quality patient service in the specialised area of sonography.
More specifically your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Performing ultrasound examinations and associated duties in accordance with standard ultrasound/radiographic practice;
- Completing all duties that are normally associated with the ultrasound examinations of patients including maintaining supplies in ultrasound rooms and ultrasound equipment;
- Acting as a resource to Nurse Coordinators in the specialised area of sonography;
- Undertaking clinical assessments on Nurse Coordinators as requested by the Patient Care and Support Manager; and
- Developing and participating in an in-house professional development program and with the clinical training of Nurse Coordinators
These are part time positions starting in April with set day shifts, working Monday - Friday, 7am - 11am and Saturday 7am - 9am. While Sydney IVF would prefer candidates to work all these days, it is however willing to negotiate with the successful individuals.
To be successful in this role, you must have relevant tertiary qualifications in sonography and previous demonstrated experience in a similar role with particular passion and emphasis on customer service.
In addition, you will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to work well in a team as well as individually. You will also have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
