About the Opportunity

St Vincent de Paul Society has an exciting opportunity for a full time Operations Manager - Retail Centres to join their team in the cosmopolitan hub of Darwin, NT.

The main purpose of this key leadership role is to oversee the organisation's retail centres across the Northern Territory. These centres are vital in supporting the good work of the Society, and you will play an integral part in ensuring their continued growth and success within the community.

 Reporting to the NT Council through the CEO, your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Developing centre budgets and business plans, and working to achieve those goals;
  • Assisting the CEO and Centres Committee to create a strategic operations plan, suitable marketing plans and store design, presentation and operations procedures;
  • Motivating staff and volunteers to assist in the development of sales campaigns and other areas, as well as contributing to a sense of fun and empowerment in all volunteers;
  • Conducting program evaluations and reporting against key performance indicators;
  • Ensuring all staff receive a comprehensive orientation, on going training and support;
  • Attending and contributing to National St Vincent de Paul Society meetings; and
  • Facilitating St Vincent de Paul Society's growth in people, programs and works.

About You

To achieve in this diverse role, the successful candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or have extensive experience in a retail or business environment. Importantly, you will have a demonstrated record of managing retail operations, displaying an indepth knowledge in the areas of recruitment and staff development, ideally in the voluntary sector.

As a dynamic leader, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to motivate a team, encouraging their participation and personal development. Furthermore, you will assist the creation of strategies and policies, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Consequently, St Vincent de Paul is seeking an enthusiastic individual with a commitment to finding innovative solutions to challenges so the organisation may continue to grow.
Computer literacy will be required, as is a comprehensive understanding of OHS and risk management principles.
